Donated in 1976, the Korean Friendship Bell celebrates the bicentennial of the U.S. and is a symbolic measure of friendship between the two countries. Located in a stone pavilion in Angels Gate Park, the bell is modeled after the Bronze Bell of King Songdok, which was cast in 771 A.D. The bell overlooks the Pacific Ocean with views of the Los Angeles harbor, the Catalina Channel and the sea terraces of San Pedro hill.
