Soothing Spanish-style in Pasadena seeks $1.5M

This old Spanish dame designed by Gothic church architect Harold Huxtable Martin has been reinterpreted by Herringbone Design. In remodeling the home, which was built in 1924, Herringbone opened up the floor plan and added custom cabinets, several pairs of French doors, a tray ceiling in the living room, and wide-plank Oak floors.

Blessedly, Herringbone left the living room’s original brick fireplace intact. The two bathrooms and kitchen, none of which appeared to have been in original condition before the remodel, were treated to a thorough updating for contemporary tastes. The master suite now features black limestone floors, white subway tile, a steam shower, double vanity, and brass fixtures.

In all, the residence measures 1,436 square feet and holds two bathrooms, including a master with built-ins and a window seat.

Sited on 6,286-square-foot lot near the Rose Bowl, 1146 Wotkyns Drive is listed with Matthew Littell and Boyd Smith of Deasy Penner Podley at an asking price of $1.49 million.
