Charming 1926 storybook in Fairfax asks $1.3M

By Bianca Barragan

Located in Fairfax just west of La Brea and Melrose, this storybook house was just been restored with “careful attention to the original charm.”

There’s no shortage of it. The two-bedroom house features a Dutch front door, coved ceilings in the living room an dining room, a working fireplace, and diamond-paned windows. To add extra whimsy, attic space has been built out and outfitted with skylights. It could serve as guest quarters or a home office.

The residence’s redone kitchen features a farmhouse sink and a sunny breakfast nook with cute built-ins.

The master bedroom has a walk-in closet that used to be the house’s second bathroom. (“Plumbing is in place and bath can be easily restored if preferred,” says the listing copy.) The house’s remaining bathroom has pink and green vintage tile.

Behind the house, which measures approximately 1 100 square feet, there’s an intimate patio and a tall fence covered in climbing vines.

The house is listed for $1.275 million.
