Bidding for Encino midcentury loaded with original details starts at $1.8M

By Elijah Chiland

Built in 1959, this fetching Encino residence still looks very sharp six decades later.

The post-and-beam-style home was designed by residential architect Cliff Burlew and many of its original features appear to be intact. That includes walnut-paneled walls and built-in cabinetry, a raised dining room, an elegant living room fireplace, and walls of glass throughout the home.

The 2,782-square-foot house has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, with tasteful updates in the kitchen and bathrooms. It sits on a half-acre lot, with a large front drive and a detached garage. In the back is a swimming pool enclosed by tall trees and privacy hedges. A long, covered patio space is accessible from multiple rooms via glass sliding doors.

Located at 4693 White Oak Avenue, the home last sold in 2013 for $1.5 million. It’s now up for sale through the plumBid auction service. Bidding starts at $1,795,000.
